To configure some items of Home Assistant, you will have to make some changes from the command line and/or edit configuration files.
To install a tool to allow SSH and command line access do the following.
Click Settings

Add-ons

ADD-ON STORE

Search of SSH and select Advanced SSH & Web Terminal

Click on Install in the lower left side. It just looks like blue text, but is the install option.

After a approximately one minute it will install. Click on Configuration at the top.

Click the three stacked dots and click Edit in YAML.

Put in details for a user and password. There are more secure ways to set this up, but for the purposes of this setup it will be the quickest. Click Save.

click Start in the bottom left to get it up and running for the first time.

To add the File Editor once again go to the Add-Ons
Click Settings

Add-ons

ADD-ON STORE

From the official add-ons select File editor

Again, click on the blue Install in the lower left.

Click on Start in the lower left to run for the first time.

Congratulations. You now have a base Home Assistant installed. You can now move on to Install HACS (Home Assistant Community Store)
